We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2026 annual IBD Fundraiser, featuring world-renowned comedian Sugar Sammy!

The evening will consist of a 6 PM cocktail dinatoire for sponsors, catered by Wolfe-Montcalm (formerly Java-U Catering), followed by a stand-up comedy show with Sugar Sammy at 8 PM.

Funds raised support the care of 10,000 patients treated at the IBD clinics in the McGill-teaching hospitals:

• Montreal General Hospital,
• Montreal Children’s Hospital,
• Jewish General Hospital,
• Saint-Mary’s Hospital.

Michael Assaraf

Michael Assaraf (Sanavie) has been a devoted supporter of the IBD community in Montreal for many years. As one of the pioneers of specialty medication pharmacy in Quebec, he helped shape a model of care that transformed how patients living with complex chronic diseases access and navigate treatment. Throughout his career, he has championed patient access, supported individuals through reimbursement and treatment challenges, and fostered collaboration among pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and patient support programs. Through both his professional contributions and longstanding philanthropy, Michael has made a lasting impact on patient care, research, and education for those living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and other chronic illnesses.

The Dr. Seidman Award in IBD Excellence recognizes individuals who have made an extraordinary difference in the lives of those affected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease, and Michael Assaraf exemplifies that commitment. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to a truly deserving recipient.
