Welcome to the McGill IBD Research Group! Tickets now on sale for our annual “Laugh Your Butt Off” Fundraiser, featuring comedian MODI!
The McGill IBD Research Group raises funds to support the best possible care for patients with Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis, referred to collectively as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). We help fund the salaries of dedicated nurses and a child psychologist as well as support educational events. We do this to improve the quality of care and support for patients like you.
Through ongoing donations and our annual fundraiser, Laugh Your Butt Off, the IBD Research Group is able to provide the following:
Dedicated Nurses: Our group provides specialized nurses to take care of you. They make patients’ lives easier by providing immediate blood and related testing when urgently needed, answering your questions, and helping you understand your test results and medication needs. Our nurses also recognize when patients need immediate care and arrange last minute appointments with IBD specialists, to avoid prolonged emergency room visits.
Education: We organize public seminars on the hottest IBD topics. We give patients and families the information they need to take better care of themselves at home. Speakers include IBD specialists, experienced dietitians, researchers in the field and patients who live with IBD. E-mail us to find out about our next event.
Research & Training: Our group helps to fund and support research projects with the goal of improving the lives of those who live with IBD. The Advanced IBD fellowship at McGill, supervised by Dr. Ernest Seidman, trains future IBD leaders. Please visit our website to find out what clinical and research studies are taking place and consider volunteering as a research subject.
The 2016 “Laugh Your Butt Off” Fundraiser was an enormous success! Raising over $200,000, the crowd of over 250 enjoyed an evening of good food and great comedy – with all funds benefiting the IBD Research Group, supporting the salaries of IBD nurses and psychologist.
